| Question:What are the "Public Collections" ? |
| Answer: When users upload a file, they have the ability to set them as "private" or "public". Setting them as "public" will enable those files to be listed for all users to see in the various selections. |
| Question:How do I upload a file ? |
| Answer: Click on File -> Upload file. Select a file from your computer using the "Browse" button. The texatrea below is where you should put in the file caption. Finaly, select a category for your file, and hit the upload button. When the file is successfully uploaded, you will be automatically redirected to your personal collection webpage. | Question:What does it cost me to get a Picture Hangar account? |
| Answer: Nothing. It's FREE. |
| Question:How many files can I upload? |
| Answer: The average user has a 3Megabyte storage capacity. This storage capacity can be increased up to 8 Megabytes. The Picture Hangar Team monitors each user's storage level on a daily basis and makes adjustments according to your needs. |
| Question:How do I upgrade my account? |
| Answer: Send TBolt or Saw a Private Message or an Email. You will receive a response within 24 hours (usually within 5 hours). |
| Question:I would like to change my password. How do I do that? |
| Answer: You can change your password (as well as other User details, like your email, handle, etc.) by clicking USER TOOLS -> USER CP at the top of the page. |
| Question:Why isn’t there a thumbnail created after I upload a "Gif" file? |
| Answer: Thumbnails for GIF files are not supported. (GIF format is trademarked and requires copyright purchase.) Thumbnail support is only enabled for JPG files. PNG thumbnails should be implemented soon. |
| Question:How frequently is this website updated? |
| Answer: "Two weeks"(Tm) |
| Question:Why is the background color of this site so fugly? |
| Answer: If you think the site is ugly now, you should've seen it when it was PINK!!! :) Each user is now able to change the background color to suit his/her own taste. Click on USER TOOLS -> USER DETAILS to see the available colors. |
| Question:How do I delete a file from my collection? |
| Answer: Go to Collections -> My Collection. Scroll the webpage all the way to the right and click on the grey "X" box to delete a file. Once deleted, the Picture Hangar website will automatically e-mail the file to you as an attachment. IMPORTANT: BE SURE THAT WE HAVE YOUR CURRENT E-MAIL ADDRESS LISTED IN THE USER TOOLS -> USER DETAILS SECTION. |
| Question:How do I ensure that other Picture Hangar members don't see my files? |
| Answer: If you intend to prevent other Picture Hangar visitors from seeing your pictures, please be sure to click on the "Private" radio button when you upload your files. |
| Question:Can I switch my files from 'Public' to 'Private' after I've uploaded them? |
| Answer: Yes. Go to your "My Collection" page. Locate the file in your list, scroll the webpage all the way to the right side & click on the "Private" radio button. The Picture Hangar system will no longer publish your file for public viewing. |
| Question:I just signed up, but I can't log in! What's the matter? |

| Question:What are cookies? |
| Answer: A cookie is a small text file that a Web site stores on your computer to use when you return to that site. Cookies store information you enter on a Web page, such as passwords or login information, to save you time later. They are very small files, and are generally designed to make a Web site more convenient to use. If you disable Cookies, some Web pages may not display properly or open at all. NOTE: For your convenience, we STRONGLY urge you to make sure that cookies are enabled when you use the PICTURE HANGAR. |
| Question:I'm an AOL user, and I'm unable to log in to the PICTURE HANGAR. What do I do? |
| Answer: You'll need to make sure that you have cookies enabled. AOL offers these instructions to enable/disable cookies: On the AOL toolbar, click Settings. Click Internet [Web] Options. In the AOL Browser Settings window, click Internet Explorer settings. Click the Privacy tab, and then click Advanced. Click Override default settings, and then specify how you want Internet Explorer to handle cookies from first-party Web sites and third-party Web sites (a Web site other than the one you are currently viewing). To specify that you want Internet Explorer to always allow cookies to be saved on your computer, click Accept. To specify that you want Internet Explorer to never allow cookies to be saved on your computer, click Block. To specify that you want Internet Explorer to ask whether or not you want to allow a cookie to be saved on your computer, click Prompt. If you want Internet Explorer to always allow session cookies (cookies that will be deleted from your computer when you close Internet Explorer) to be saved on your computer, click [Always allow session cookies]. Click OK to close the Advanced Privacy Settings window. Click OK to close the Internet Options window. Click the X in the upper-right corner to close the AOL Browser Settings window. |
| Question:How can I upload a terrain or zipped folder? |
| Answer: You can now upload "zip" files. |
| Question:Can I upload a video? |
| Answer: Yes, you can now upload ahf, avi, wmv files. |
| Question:How do I upload a picture bigger than 2MB? |
| Answer: The 2MB-per-upload restriction has been removed. You may upload a file as long as its size is within the current allowable limit on your account. |
| Question:Is there a setting so people can view the files but not be able to download them? I can then post information with violating electronic copyrights. |
| Answer: Sorry, this is not currently implemented. There is currently no way to protect files that are being sent to your browser 100%. If you set your file to "private" it will NOT be listed in the public file listing but will still be readable if the direct link to the file is entered. |
| Question:What is error 2? |
| Answer: "error" is displayed in the random pictures when there is an error on the filesize calculation. I'm workin' on it :) |
